Our tablets are independently tested by the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) for fluoride release.
They have confirmed that the amount of fluoride released is equal to or greater than that in ‘regular’ toothpaste. We use the optimal 1450 parts per million of fluoride. Check the report here.
Additionally, our e-brushes are tested by CTI for the removal of plaque-causing bacteria. An impressive 99.98% is removed.
Smyle also partners with health insurer FBTO to promote good oral care for FBTO clients—because a healthy mouth is key to overall health.
Smyle has also partnered with Five25, with whom we have opened our own dental hygienist practice.
Did you know that more than 1,500 dental practices are now sampling our products with their clients? That’s about 20% of all practices in the Netherlands. Dozens of dentists have also invested and are co-owners of Smyle.

HOW SMYLE STARTED
Everyone loves a bright smile! But no one smiles when they hear that toothpaste is full of harmful microplastics and harsh chemicals.
Harsh substances like SLS (= detergent foam), which dries out your mouth and can cause mouth ulcers. Or titanium dioxide, a substance that can cause genetic damage—already banned in food in the EU, but still allowed in toothpaste.
And microplastics? They’ve already been found in placentas, bloodstreams, reproductive organs, and even the human brain.
Every year, we throw away over 40 billion plastic toothpaste tubes and toothbrushes. Almost none of them are economically or technically recyclable, and they mostly end up in landfills or our oceans.
In the Netherlands, do we recycle them in the plastic bin? We throw them in the plastic bin. But what they don’t tell you is that this waste is often mixed with regular trash, incinerated, or exported to Third World countries.
Roger went on vacation to an uninhabited island and saw beaches covered in plastic tubes, toothbrushes, and packaging. Almar lives by the sea and is seeing the same thing happen.

We are also happy to donate toothpaste tablets, such as for a dental project in Tanzania. So far, we have donated over 280,000 Smyle brushing sessions!

Broccoli is a cutting-edge platform that focuses on sustainable companies with a strong mission, allowing them to issue, digitize, and trade their equity. We feel at home with their vision, which is why we chose to partner with them.
On your personal page on the Broccoli platform, you can track in your dashboard how many share certificates you own in Smyle. For each transaction, you will receive an email confirmation and a transaction certificate, which serves as proof of purchase. In your account, you can view all your transactions and transaction details.
On Broccoli, the digital share certificates in Smyle are referred to as “Certificaten”.
We are not thinking about selling at all; our goal is to continue growing the company.
However, if a sale ever becomes a possibility in the future, you as an investor will be included in this process.
If Smyle is sold, you will share in the profits.
In the event of a sale as described above, the certificates will be repurchased by either Smyle or the investor, at the acquisition value, and the sale price will be paid to you in cash.
The difference in value will determine the final return. This can be either negative or positive, but Smyle is focused on creating impact, which means growth and therefore an increase in value. 🚀

You can sell your share certificates through the Broccoli platform. This means you can offer your certificates for sale to other co-owners.
You set the minimum price you want to receive, and this is done anonymously. Buyers can then place anonymous bids. If you receive a price that you’re happy with, you can accept the buyer’s offer.
For every bid you receive, you will get an email notification. Once you accept a bid, the buyer has 24 hours to complete the payment. The payment is processed through Broccoli and is transferred directly to your bank account (minus Broccoli’s transaction fee of 2.5%, with a maximum of €1,250), as registered in your user profile on the platform.
⚠ Important: During a sharefunding round, trading between investors is not allowed.
HOW CAN I GENERATE RETURNS?
By becoming a co-owner of a company, there are two ways to generate returns:
1. Dividend payouts (profit distribution)
2.The value of your share certificate, which is determined by the difference between the purchase price and the selling price of your certificates.
The exact return on investment cannot be predicted with certainty. You are investing in Smyle at a relatively early stage—the foundation is strong, but real growth is now accelerating. If value is added to the company, it will directly impact revenue and results, which in turn affects the value of the current share certificates.
The forecast suggests that revenue will almost double within the coming years. This could mean that the value of your investment also doubles. However, this is a projection, not a guarantee for the future. Returns could be realized by selling your certificates on the marketplace or if Smyle (partially) sells to a third party.
The dividend amount is determined annually after the financial statements are finalized. The board decides whether the profit will be distributed as dividends or reinvested. Because Smyle is still in a growth phase together with you as co-owners, estimating the expected dividend return for the next three years is difficult.
NO, YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY ANY FEES.
The Broccoli platform charges a 2.5% transaction fee, which is covered by the seller—in this case, Smyle.
If you decide to sell your certificates in the future, you as the seller will be responsible for the transaction fee. In that case, you would pay 2.5% per transaction, with a maximum of €1,250 per sale. The buyer does not pay any fees.
Apart from this, Broccoli does not charge any additional fees for users or account holders.
The Broccoli platform allows you to export your transaction(s) (investment) at any time of the day.
On January 1st of the new year, you can also export an annual overview from Broccoli. This provides a summary of how many share certificates you own in each company and their respective values. You can use this information for your own administration or tax filing.

The value of your share certificates falls under Box 3 (savings & investments). In 2025, the tax-free threshold in Box 3 is €57,684 (or €115,368 if you have a fiscal partner).

Yes. The STAK (Stichting Administratiekantoor Smyle) is a Dutch entity, established and registered with Notariaat Schut van de Ven in Amsterdam, and operates under Dutch law.
No, the convertible loan you invested in via CrowdAboutNow cannot be converted into share certificates in this investment round.
The terms of the convertible loan agreement remain unchanged, and the conversion process follows the original agreement set with CrowdAboutNow.
