FAQ
Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush
Healthy teeth and body: it all starts with an effective oral care routine. The electric toothbrush offers numerous advantages over brushing with a manual toothbrush, including more thorough cleaning, better plaque removal and ease of use. Poor oral health can lead to annoying toothaches and other health problems that can disrupt your daily life. Research has shown that brushing this way is up to 10x more effective and has more benefits. Multiple scientific studies have shown that electric brushing leads to 22% less gum problems and 18% less tooth decay. Dentists (and we) therefore highly recommend it.
How the electric toothbrush works
These types of brushes provide a convenient and effective alternative option to manual toothbrushes. They offer various benefits and features that make brushing teeth easier and tailor-made. Take the Smyle electric toothbrush, for example, which has no fewer than 5 different brushing modes. This variation allows you to adapt the toothbrush to your specific needs and personal preferences. A striking advantage of these models is that most of the work is already done for you. The vibrating movements of the brush head mean you have to exert less pressure and you can make efficient, effective brushing movements. In addition, you only have to replace the brush head and charge the toothbrush every 2 months, as opposed to replacing the entire toothbrush with a manual version. The process of brushing itself remains largely the same: apply toothpaste and start brushing for a fresh and clean mouth. With these benefits in mind, it's no surprise that more and more people are turning to this modern method of brushing for optimal oral health.
Different types of
Are you aware of the fact that there is not just one, but actually several different species? It's fascinating to discover that there are a variety of options available, including sonic, rotary, and ultrasonic toothbrushes. Each variant has unique features and functions that improve oral care in different ways.
-
The sonic electric toothbrush
Unlike a ''normal'' toothbrush, this type uses high frequency vibrations to create a powerful cleaning effect. With its elongated brush head, this toothbrush can easily reach the hard-to-reach places in the mouth, allowing for a thorough cleaning. -
The ultrasonic electric toothbrush
Another variant is the ultrasonic toothbrush. This uses sound waves with a frequency above the range of human hearing. These ultrasonic waves can effectively remove plaque and other bacteria. The ultrasonic electric toothbrush is often recommended for people with sensitive gums, as the gentle vibrations provide a less stressful cleaning. -
The rotating toothbrush
We also have the rotating model. This has a round brush head that removes plaque and dirt in a rotating manner. The speed of the rotating movement can often be adjusted to your personal preference. Although rotary are generally more effective than manual, they are generally slightly less effective than sonic and ultrasonic models.
A healthy body starts with healthy teeth. Poor oral health can lead to annoying toothaches and other health problems that can disrupt your daily life. That is why brushing your teeth is very important. You can brush both manually and electrically. However, research has shown that brushing with an electric toothbrush is up to 10x more effective and has more benefits. Multiple scientific studies have shown that electric brushing leads to 22% less gum problems and 18% less tooth decay. Dentists therefore recommend electric brushing.
If you want convenience, choose a Smyle subscription. This means that you will receive 2 new Bamboo brush heads at home every 4 months, and 1 new brush head every 2 months. Almost the same as the Toothpaste Tab subscription!
With an electric toothbrush your teeth are cleaned much more thoroughly compared to a regular one. For example, the Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush makes fast and effective movements, which removes plaque and other dirt more effectively. The special brush head is designed to thoroughly clean even hard-to-reach places, where using a manual one is much more difficult. With an electric one you have to exert less pressure while brushing, which protects your gums better. This is due to the high speed of the brush head, which makes no less than 38,000 vibrations per minute. In just two minutes, the Smyle electric toothbrush makes more movements than a manual toothbrush in a four-week period! Thanks to this great technology you can enjoy a thorough and effective cleaning of your teeth.
In addition to the superior cleaning power, the Smyle electric toothbrush offers even more benefits. This toothbrush is equipped with additional functions that help you achieve optimal oral care. You can choose from different brushing modes depending on your needs, such as a mode for sensitive teeth or a mode for deep cleaning. In addition, this electric toothbrush has handy timers that guide you to the correct brushing time interval, so that you give each zone of your teeth sufficient attention. By taking advantage of these great features, you can build a consistent and effective oral care routine. In short, Smyle's model combines great technology with user-friendliness, making it an excellent choice for anyone who strives for a healthy and radiant smile.
Manual and electric: the difference
The distinction between these two is actually very simple. An electric toothbrush simply performs better than a regular toothbrush. Electric ones remove more debris, such as plaque, and can reach hard-to-reach areas more easily. In addition, there are additional aspects to take into account, such as charging the electrical and special functions such as a timer.
Taking care of your teeth and maintaining healthy teeth may not be the most enjoyable task, but we try to make it a little more pleasant with these five different brushing modes of the Smyle sonic electric toothbrush!
Clean
The first setting is the “Clean” setting, perfect for general use. You only need to use this mode once per evening. It is an excellent way to keep your teeth healthy and clean.
Whitening
If you want to take extra care of your front teeth, you can try our “Whitening” mode. This mode has been specially developed to clean your front teeth and is ideal for people who want to maintain radiantly white front teeth. For best results, use this setting once in the morning and once in the evening.
Polishing
Do you suffer from stains on your teeth? Then the “Polishing” mode is perfect for you. This setting is designed to reduce tooth stains and is particularly suitable for people with tea or coffee stains on their teeth. For best results, use this mode 3-4 times a week, once in the morning and once in the evening. In serious cases, this position offers a solution.
Mild
If you're switching from an analogue or old-fashioned electric brush, the “Mild” setting is ideal for gently massaging your gums while still providing an excellent clean.
Sensitive
For those new to using a sonic model, there is the “Sensitive” mode. This mode is designed to be gentle and easy to use, so you can get used to the vibration frequency of the electric brush. Use this mode until you are comfortable with the vibrations.
Tip: it is not recommended to change the setting too often. Let your teeth get used to the vibration frequency of each setting so you can achieve the best results.
Change brushing mode
To change brushing modes, all you have to do is press and hold the on/off button for a little longer and then press the on button once. At that point, the toothbrush will seamlessly transition to another mode, such as a special mode for gum care or sensitive teeth. The ease with which you can switch modes provides a personalized brushing experience that suits your specific needs. And when you're done brushing, all you have to do is press and hold the on/off button again to switch it off. This simple operation makes using an electric toothbrush both convenient and intuitive, making it easy for you to enjoy effective oral care.
Maintaining an electric toothbrush
To ensure that your electric toothbrush performs optimally and has a longer lifespan, it is important to perform regular maintenance. First of all, it is essential to follow the manufacturer's cleaning instructions. This usually includes rinsing the brush head after each use and thoroughly cleaning the brush holder regularly. By following these simple steps you will prevent toothpaste, bacteria and dirt buildup.
In addition, it is very important to replace the brush head regularly, ideally every three months or according to the manufacturer's recommendation. Over time, the bristles can wear out and reduce their effectiveness. Replacing the brush head in time ensures that you always get optimal cleaning.
You can see this by the battery light on the front of the toothbrush.
Normally, with normal use (brushing for 2 minutes twice a day), 1 person can brush for a whole year with 3-4 charges. Then leave it on the charger for a day with each recharge for the best results.
Yes, that is possible, or the USB port of your laptop is also possible. It works where the USB plug of the Smyle charging base can be inserted.
Common misconceptions about the electric toothbrush
Common misconceptions about electric toothbrushes can cause people to overlook the benefits of these innovative oral care tools. Did you already know that the electric toothbrush…
Isn't just intended for dental problems?
One of the misconceptions is that electric toothbrushes are only intended for people with dental problems. In reality, using an electric toothbrush is beneficial for everyone, regardless of the condition of their teeth. Electric toothbrushes provide a more thorough cleaning of both the teeth and gums, which can help prevent dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease. They can also help reach hard-to-reach areas, such as the back molars, improving overall oral health.
More effective than manual brushing?
Another common misconception is that manual brushing is just as effective as electric brushing. While manual brushing still has some benefits, such as removing food particles, it cannot provide the same thorough cleaning as an electric toothbrush. Electric toothbrushes use advanced technologies, such as rotating, sonic or oscillating movements, that move the bristles more effectively and remove plaque better. In addition, electric toothbrushes often have built-in timers that help maintain the recommended brushing time of two minutes, which is an important factor for effective oral care.
Not all the same?
Finally, the misconception that all species are the same. There are a wide range of electric toothbrushes available on the market, each with different features and technologies. It is important to choose the right toothbrush that suits individual needs and preferences. For example, some electric toothbrushes have different brushing modes, such as gum care or sensitive teeth, making them suitable for people with specific oral health problems. In addition, the brush heads vary in size, shape and softness, so they can be adapted to each person's mouth structure and sensitivity. So it is essential to research and consider the different options before purchasing an electric toothbrush.
Understanding and refuting these misconceptions is critical to raising awareness of the benefits of electric toothbrushes. By sharing these insights, we hope more people will consider switching to electric brushing and develop a more effective oral care routine for optimal oral health.

Brush heads
The bamboo parts of the brush heads are specially designed in a combination of bamboo and corn starch and are 100% biodegradable.
Our bristles – bristles – are made from fibers from the castor tree and nylon and they are free of BPA and fossil oil. Unfortunately, due to the nylon, the bristles are not 100% compostable. However, at the moment this is the best available option on the market. The only alternative is to use pig bristles, but we love animals, so we don't think that is a good alternative.
There is also a very small piece of plastic inside the brush head to properly absorb and guide the vibrations of the brush. No alternative has yet been found for this. Every type of bamboo brush head has this.
Our bamboo brush heads currently contain 88% less plastic than regular brush heads.
Of course, we will always continue to look for even better alternatives. Have you come across an alternative somewhere that you suspect could be better? Please email this to hello@wesmyle.com . Then we go check this out!
To ensure that you use as little plastic as possible, we have designed a special brush head for the Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush. It is therefore not possible to use other brush heads in combination with our Electric toothbrush.
You already save 88% of all plastic! Unfortunately, there is still a small plastic part in the brush, which means it cannot be completely recycled. For now, you still have to throw the attachments in the residual waste. We do our utmost to present an alternative to this.
Yes, this is coming. We'll let you know when the time comes.
