Which ingredients are part of our Toothpaste Tabs?

We only use organic ingredients: no sulfates, parabens, allergens, dyes or any other harsh chemicals.

We offer Fluoride and Fluoride free toothpaste. Unfortunately, our fluoride free tablets are out of stock at the moment. Please send an email to hello@wesmyle.com and we inform you as soon as Fluoride Free is back in stock.

How many Toothpaste Tabs does a refill package contain?

A standard refill package contains 63 Toothpaste Tabs, enough for one month of brushing, twice a day.

How many Toothpaste Tabs fit in the glass storage bottle?

Approximately 170 Toothpaste Tabs.

How do you use the Toothpaste Tabs?

It is straightforward! First of all, store them somewhere air-tight, like in our bottle. When you need them: 

Crush the Toothpaste Tab between your teeth

Brush with a wet toothbrush

Smyle!

Repeat twice a day!

Are your products tested on animals?

No. We are passionately against animal testing.

Is a Toothpaste Tabs safe for animals?

NO, our Toothpaste Tabs are not safe for pets! They contain xylitol, and xylitol is good for our teeth but extremely toxic to dogs. Please keep our Toothpaste Tabs away from our pet companions.

Can I use only one Toothpaste Tab at a time?

Most people use one Toothpaste Tab at a time. However, there might be some that want to use more Toothpaste Tabs when brushing their teeth. That is entirely safe to do. No problem

What are the toothbrushes made of?

They are made of Bamboo! Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, and it naturally regrows after harvesting without the use of harsh chemicals or pesticides. It contains natural antibacterial, antifungal, and odour resistant properties, so bamboo is hygienic and biodegradable!

What about the pandas? We use Moso bamboo which grows up to 28 meters high, so the leaves are out of a panda’s reach. We love pandas! The bristles are BPA free, made from nylon 6. We try to replace the hairs with natural alternatives, but this is the best we can get so far.

How much plastic do you save?

On average, people that brush twice a day will use 1 toothpaste tube each month. With Smyle you will save 1 plastic tube from going to garbage ovens, landfills or oceans each month.

Where are the Toothpaste Tabs made?

They are a real Dutch product, developed, designed, produced and packaged in The Netherlands.

After a while I see some yellow stains on my fluoride Toothpaste Tabs, what is it?

Nothing to worry about. We added Vitamine C to our Toothpaste Tabs and this can - after a while in open air - cause some yellow stains. Our Toothpaste Tabs remain perfectly safe and secure though.

Do these Toothpaste Tabs comply with all regulations?

Yes, all national, EU and international regulations are followed. In addition, our Toothpaste Tabs are produced following GMP and ISO 22000 Certification criteria.

How are Toothpaste Tabs different from regular toothpaste?

Toothpaste Tabs provide excellent dental care, just like the top of toothpaste companies provides. That is where the similarities end.
We do NOT use plastic tubes, micro-plastics, chemicals and allergens.

What happens when you don't store the Toothpaste Tabs air-tight?

The Toothpaste Tabs might get softer, as they take on moisture from the air. This has no further effect, although when you leave everything constantly open, the shelf life will be less just like with regular toothpaste. Thus you better store them air-tight, preferably in our Smyle bottle. 

What is different between your Toothpaste Tabs and other dental tabs?

Dental tabs exist for some years now. But hardly anybody knows them. That is because most of them taste terrible, and they are costly and hard to find.
Our Toothpaste Tabs taste very good and offer excellent dental care for a sharp price.

Where can I buy Toothpaste Tabs?

You can buy them until now only via wesmyle.com. We will start experimenting with consumer sales via retail shops as well. When we expand further in other sales channels, we will let you know.

Are Toothpaste Tabs safe for children?

Yes, they are. All ingredients are natural and completely harmless. However, we do not advise to provide Toothpaste Tabs to children under the age of 6. That is because children of that age or older have learned to handle small harder candy. Our Toothpaste Tabs disintegrate in contact with fluids.
Do you want to provide your children under six our Toothpaste Tabs, be sure to crush them upfront and then give them to your children as a powder.

Can I swallow the Smyle toothpaste?

Smyle has 2 variants, with and without fluoride. For the variant with fluoride, the advice is not to swallow. The variant without fluoride can be swallowed.

Are Toothpaste Tabs travel-friendly?

You only need to use 2 Toothpaste Tabs a day. So taking them with you on a trip is extremely travel-friendly.

Are the Toothpaste Tabs vegan friendly?

We can announce with pride that all our products are fully cruelty-free and vegan. This means that Smyle products aren’t tested on animals and do not contain any ingredients that come from animals.

What are your opening hours?

Our webshop is open 24/7. We will try to answer your questions within a day or less.

When will I get my delivery?

All orders ordered before 17.00 hrs, are shipped the same day. After 17.00, you will receive it in two days. For orders outside of the UK within Europe, it might take longer, between 5-15 business days, also in light of the current turbulent times.

What are the shipping costs?

The shipping costs are 3.99 € per order. We offer free shipping for all our subscriptions or orders with an order value of at least 19.99 €.

What is your return and refund policy?

We hope you love our Smyle Brush Mints. However, if you are not happy, please mail us on hello@wesmyle.com within 14 days of receiving your Mints (or first subscription order), so we can help you out. 

Any refills or subscription shipments ordered after your first order are not eligible for a return, refund or cancellation after they are charged. Smyle bamboo toothbrushes are not eligible for return. 

We are happy to accept returns on unopened Smyle Brush Mints within 14 days of postal delivery. Opened Brush Mint packages are not accepted. Please email at hello@wesmyle.com with the subject RETURN so we can help you out.

Unfortunately, we are unable to refund your original shipping charges, and we do not offer exchanges on any of our products. We will only accept new products. 

Return shipping is at the expense of the customer. The customer is free to choose whatever method of shipping is most economical. We only ask the name and order number to be included in the package. 

We will not provide a refund for a request that is received by Smyle more than 14 days after the date of original shipment. We also do not offer a refund for returned Products that are damaged due to misuse, lack of care, mishandling, accident, abuse or other abnormal use.

Bulk orders or orders over €100 are ineligible for return but subject to additional evaluation by the Smyle Team.

What do I do when something arrives broken or damaged?

Not to worry, we will take care of it. Just mail us on hello@wesmyle.com, and we will contact you and help out. 

How is it delivered?

We only use mail delivered by the postman, which fits in your mailbox. You do not need to stay at home to receive your Brush Mints.
We do NOT use parcel shipping, as it is less sustainable, and it brings the hassle of staying home to accept the parcel.

Do you offer rush shipping?

Sorry, at this moment we do not support it. 

Where do you ship to?

We ship to most countries worldwide.

I want to change my shipping address?

You can update your address at any time through your account page. If your order shipped to an old address, contact us, and we will help you out. Email us at hello@wesmyle.com so we can do our best to help you out! Always be sure to keep your shipping information up to date in your account page.

What duties and fees apply when shipping internationally?

International orders may incur customs and/or import taxes upon delivery of the product.
Mind you; this is separate from the amount you pay on our site for the product.
Please note, Smyle does not have any control over these charges and consequently cannot estimate the amount.
Custom policies vary wildly, so please contact your local customs office for further details.

Can I make changes to or cancel my order?

Our fulfilment starts as soon as your payment is accepted and confirmed. As there is a tiny window of time afterwards, it could be we may not be able to “catch” your order before it’s packed or shipped.
Unfortunately, this means no changes can be made to an order once it’s placed.
However, there may be just enough time to cancel your order entirely.
Please mail us at hello@wesmyle.com as soon as possible with the subject “CANCEL”, along with your full name and order number, and we will get to it immediately!

Can I track and trace my order?

Unfortunately, we do not offer this service yet.

Is home delivery not less sustainable than buying in local stores?

Now, this may seem counter-intuitive, but delivery by post is more sustainable than buying at your local store. 

When we started Smyle, one of the first things we thought about was shipping. Because here’s the thing: we have a product that is good for the environment and will help to reduce waste, but it can not do any good if we cannot get it to you! And, of course, getting anything anywhere requires energy and fuel.

In order to understand how our shipping was going to affect the environment, we did a little digging. According to this MIT study, in general, online shopping is more sustainable than buying from a brick and mortar store as long as is not rushed. Let us explain why that is and what we do to keep our carbon footprint under control. 

First of all, a brick and mortar store (aka, a physical store you can walk into with your body) does not have the luxury of knowing how much of any item it is actually going to sell. As a result, the store has to stay fully stocked, and that is accomplished by shipping items to nearby warehouses and then to the stores, usually by freight truck. Sometimes goods need to be moved from location to location depending on sales and sales projections. On the flip side, an online retailer (hi, there you have us!) freights only to one warehouse where it stays until it is actually ordered, cutting down on unnecessary travel and multiple facility energy overheads. 

Another factor to consider is the movement of the consumer (you!). In order to shop in a store, you need to get in your car and drive to that store. Of course, this is less of a factor if you live in a city and take public transportation or a bike, but we are generally speaking here. You driving to the store to pick up that tube has a carbon cost. With many people collectively driving their cars to individual stores, that carbon footprint adds up fast. 

There is also the issue of packaging. The carbon footprint of the shipping packaging needs to be more robust than when you are buying something in a store. To mitigate that, we use recyclable cardboard packaging — every piece of a Smyle package is 100% recyclable or compostable. We also make sure it is appropriately sized and lightweight while durable enough to protect our glass bottles: no plastic bubble wrap, no plastic tape, no unnecessary void fill is used for that. 

Finally, we want to talk about rush shipping —because this is where online shopping loses its advantage. With 2-day shipping options on the rise, the environmental impact of online shopping is going up and up. Because of this, we do not offer rush shipping. There is a good chance a postal worker is going to come by your mailbox every single business day, whether you have mail or not. This person is using an existing postal route that is followed no matter what. By using existing mail box postal services, your Brush Mints essentially hitch a ride along this slow and predetermined system (a la the “public transit” of delivery). This significantly cuts down the carbon footprint of your delivery, similar as to when you take a bus instead of a car. 

In contrast, when you select parcel delivery, a special trip is made to your house for your order which leads to a way higher carbon footprint.

What is a subscription?

With a subscription, you will get your Smyle products automatically send to your home every 4 months. You will never run out! 

With the first order you will get two refill packages and one glass storage bottle. One refill package has enough Toothpaste Tabs to last for two months two times a day brushing.

For every delivery following, you will  get the two refill packages.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can pause or stop your subscription at any time. Just go to the “my account” page and make these changes.

What is the advantage of a subscription?

It is easy, you never run out of your toothpaste and you will get a discount of 25%. 

You do not have to pay any shipping costs.

And, you get a free glass storage bottle.

What are the shipping costs?

With a subscription... None! The delivery is free. Costless shipping. You pay nada.

How much does a subscription costs?

Let us compare. Other natural toothpaste in a 75 ml plastic tube that last one month with twice a day brushing – are often priced €7.50 or more. 

Our subscription costs €23.96 every four months. 

So you pay €5.99 a month for excellent dental care, that never runs out,  saves one plastic tube every month from ending up in our landfills or oceans with free home delivery and a cool free glass storage bottle.

In the EU we have taken care of our plastic streams, so why bother?

This simply is not true. In the EU, an estimated 42% of plastic packaging waste was recycled in 2017. So this means that 60% is not recycled. All these plastic tubes end up in landfills, oceans or get burned, causing CO2 emissions.

BUT THIS DOES NOT EVEN APPLY TO PLASTIC TOOTHPASTE TUBES. 

Most conventional toothpaste tubes are made from sheets of plastic laminate sandwiched around a thin layer of aluminum. The mix of different plastics and metal makes them impossible to recycle. So recycling is not happening. They either get burned or, most likely, end up in landfills and in our oceans.

Outside the European Union, the situation is even worse.

What if I do not want the commitment of a subscription?

No problem, you can also go for the single refill packages. And if you want us to, we will remind you on time when to reorder if you leave your email address.

Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush

What are the benefits of brushing with an electric toothbrush?

You remove plaque better with an electric toothbrush, which keeps your gums healthier. An electric toothbrush is made so that you can position it properly on your teeth to brush properly. Also, the right brushing motion is already programmed into it. Another advantage of an electric toothbrush is that it has a small head. A small head makes it easier to reach hard-to-reach areas, such as the back of your back teeth.

Can I also use the electric toothbrush for sensitive teeth and/or gums?

You can simply brush with an electric toothbrush even if you have sensitive teeth or gums. For this, you can use the special modes on the toothbrush 'Gentle' and 'Sensitive'.

Can I also use the electric toothbrush if I have implants or crowns?

For the best personal advice, we recommend asking your dentist.

Can I also use the electric toothbrush if I have braces?

Yes, this is no problem at all. Electric brushing proves to be safe and effective. Sometimes even more effective than brushing with an ordinary toothbrush. You don't have to worry about brushing the braces off your teeth.

How do I clean my electric toothbrush?

Rinse the brush head with clean water after each use to remove toothpaste residue and germs. It is important to use cold water, as hot water can damage the bristles. Afterwards, it is important to let the toothbrush dry upright. This is because bacteria love damp spots.

How often should I replace the brush head?

We recommend replacing the brush head every 2 months, just like a regular manual toothbrush.

How long does the battery last?

When you brush twice for two minutes every day, you only need to charge the brush 3-4 times a year!

How often should I charge the electric toothbrush?

Of course, this depends on how often and for how long you brush your teeth, but on average the electric toothbrush only needs to be charged 3 to 4 times a year. You can use the USB charger to do so.

How long does it take to charge the battery?

The battery likes to be on the charger for 10 hours to be ready to clean your teeth again.

What modes does the electric toothbrush have and what is each mode used for?

The Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush has 5 modes. Namely; Cleaning, Whitening, Polishing, Gentle and Sensitive. All these modes use the Sonic brushing technology. Having 38.000 brushing vibrations per minute.

How do I change the modes on the Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush?

By simply pressing the button one after the other - it's child's play!

What is the Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush made of? And what parts does the toothbrush consist of?

The Electric Toothbrush is made of recyclable PC material. The Electric Toothbrush is one piece and comes with the USB charging cable and 1 bamboo brush head.

Where can I find information on product/battery safety of the Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush?

Can I also use the Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush in the shower?

Good news, you can! As long as you make sure you dry the toothbrush thoroughly after use.

Brush Heads

What are the brush heads made of? Are they free of plastic?

The brush heads are specially designed, made from a combination of bamboo and cornstarch. The best thing is, they are biodegradable. The bristles are made from castor bean oil, coming from the castor tree.

Can I recycle the brush heads?

You have already saved 88% of all plastic! Unfortunately, there is still a small plastic part in the brush which makes it not completely recyclable. For now, you have to throw the brush heads with the general waste. We are doing our best to present an alternative for this.

How do I put on the brush head?

Firmly press the brush head on the Electric Toothbrush, but with love.

Are other brands' brush heads compatible with this electric toothbrush?

To ensure that you use as little plastic as possible, we have designed a special brush head for the Smyle Sonic Electric Toothbrush. Therefore, it is not possible to use other brush heads with our electric toothbrush.

Are the brush heads also available in different colours?

Unfortunately not yet, we are working hard to offer these as soon as possible!

In which country are the brush heads made?

How does the Bamboo Brush Heads subscription work?

What if you choose a Smyle Super Sonic Electric Toothbrush, with a subscription? This means you get 2 new Bamboo brush heads sent home every 4 months, 1 new brush head every 2 months. Almost the same as the Toothpaste Tab subscription!

Can I combine this subscription with my current toothpaste subscription?

Certainly!

Will the payment and shipping then also go together?

The payment takes place every 4 months and is the total amount of the toothpaste tabs and the brush heads combined.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel the subscription at any time by sending us an email to hello@wesmyle.com.

Lifetime warranty, what about it?

If you have taken out the subscription, you get a lifetime warranty. Should the electric toothbrush suddenly stop working properly, send us an email at hello@wesmyle.com. We will find a solution together. For example, this applies if the battery suddenly stops working (properly), but not if the electric toothbrush has been dropped.

Can I try it first?

When you brush with the Sonic Toothbrush for the first time, it can take some getting used to. Just like brushing with Toothpaste Tabs. This is why Smyle offers you 60-day trial. If you are not satisfied, please send us an email to hello@wesmyle.com.

What is covered under warranty and what is not? When will my toothbrush not be refunded?

The warranty only covers problems concerning the battery. We do not refund toothbrushes that have been damaged because they have been dropped, for example.

Can I buy an electric toothbrush without a subscription?

How does the warranty work without a subscription?

If you bought the electric toothbrush without a subscription, you get a 2-year warranty.
