The vibe at the office is always great, but lately there’s been an extra buzz in the air. That’s because we’re well on our way to earning the coveted B Corp certification. In simple terms, companies with this label have proven that their entire business operations are sustainably run—and that they use their profits to benefit both the environment and society. Dutch companies like Dopper, Tony’s Chocolonely, and WeTransfer have already paved the way. According to the required self-assessment, carried out with professional guidance from a B Corp partner, we meet all the criteria. Now, it’s just a matter of patience—final certification can take anywhere from 9 to 12 months.
About B Corporation
B Corp is a certification issued since 2006 by B Lab, a U.S.-based non-profit organization. Since 2015, companies in Europe have also been able to apply. B Lab assesses whether a company meets a range of high standards—not just in its products, but across its entire operations. The evaluation is based on five key areas: sustainability, workers' rights, transparency, customers, and community. With this certification, a company shows that people, the planet, and society are just as important as profit. And that’s exactly why B Corp is such a natural fit for us. The values they assess are the very reasons we founded Smyle. That’s why we’re standing proudly in line with other like-minded businesses, eager to become a certified B Corp and prove ourselves with full transparency.
“B Corps use their profits and growth to make a positive impact on their employees, communities, and the environment.”
A Wide Smyle
Every day, we work hard to find new ways to create more positive impact—for us, for you, and for the planet. It may sound like a cliché by now, but there really is no planet B. That’s why, through our products and initiatives, we aim to inspire as many people as possible to make better, healthier, and more sustainable choices. Together, we can be kinder to the planet, and as a result, the Smyle product range continues to grow with more and better alternatives. Recently, for example, we added floss and mouthwash to the lineup. If we all do our part—even in small ways—we can enjoy the world for longer, with a big Smyle. And isn’t that something we all want?
